A farm in Cotton Tree? That’s right. The Maroochy Neighourhood Centre’s Urban Farm is a vibrant social enterprise organically farming the freshest, healthiest seasonal produce in harmony with nature.
From fresh salad greens, herbs, and edible flowers to seasonal fruits and vegetables, The Farm supplies high-quality, sustainable produce to local cafes, restaurants, catering businesses, and the broader Sunshine Coast community.

We grow chemical-free produce using permaculture techniques, ensuring environmentally friendly practices that support soil health and biodiversity.

We offer horticultural workshops and educational tours by appointment, sharing knowledge about sustainable farming and permaculture with the community. Groups and individuals are welcome, including Childcare, School, Church, and Organisational groups.

As a revenue-generating initiative, the Urban Farm supports services at the Maroochy Neighbourhood Centre, contributing to the sustainability of community programs. These programs include dinners for the homeless through the One Roof Project, or child play groups through the Family Support Program.

It’s all organically grown food from real nutrient dense soil. That means your lettuce or your strawberries might look like super-market fruit and veg, but inside they’re nutrient-packed super-foods!
We’re chemical free, which makes your food happy and healthy, NO nasties. The way it should be.
Harvested fresh just before you pick-up means less (or practically no) food miles. So your food is alive and well, bringing its full potential with you to your kitchen.
More seasonal variety means better nutrition. Eating in season brings us closer to natural cycles.

550+ Produce boxes
In 2025 our Urban Farm sold 10-12 fresh produce boxes per week, giving fresh and healthy nourishment to members of our wider community.
10 Garden beds hired
We have 10 permanent garden beds being hired by members of our community - creating opportunity for growing and harvesting locally grown organic produce.
#1 composting site in town
We’re very active in on-site food and green waste composting, and we use the humus soil created to feed our gardens.
